You've got something you're about to send. The reply to the friend who keeps asking to pick your brain. The Facebook post with your price in it. The email to the client who went quiet. The blog post you've been writing for a month. The voice message you've recorded four times and deleted four times. It still sounds like somebody else wrote it, and the Gremlin has his hand on the delete key.

Send it to me first.

You pay fifty-five dollars on this page. Then you reply to your receipt with the thing, exactly as it is, words or a voice memo, and tell me who it's for and what you want to happen when they read it or hear it. Within a week you get a voice memo back from me, recorded in my car or on a walk, where I tell you what's working, which lines the Gremlin wrote, and what to send instead. I say the new version out loud, so you can hear what it sounds like coming out of a person.

Then you send it. That part's yours.

I'm reading for one thing: whether it courts. A seducer wants a yes by Friday. A courter wants the person to be glad they heard from you, and to be glad again next month. Most of what people send me is seducing, by accident, because the writer is scared, and scared sounds pushy on the page. I'll show you where.

One piece at a time, up to about a page, or a voice memo a few minutes long. Longer than that is a sales page, and that's a different conversation. One voice memo back, one round. When the next thing comes along, come back and buy the next one.
