You do it over margaritas. In the passenger seat on the way home. Standing at somebody's kitchen island waiting for the water to boil. Somebody complains about their boss and you're off.

I was a coach and a bartender at the same time for years. Everybody told me the bartending made me good at coaching. They had it backwards. The bar taught me the worst habit a coach can have: coaching anywhere, any time, with nobody agreeing to anything. I call it Coaching Lite, and I was the king of it.

This book names the three ways a session goes wrong. Coaching Zero, where you hear a problem and hand over an answer. Coaching Lite, where the coaching words come out in the wrong place. Diet Coaching, where everything is set up right and you perform anyway, and I show you my own worst paid session to prove it. Then it's about what happens after somebody says yes, and how you keep giving away everything else once they're paying you. The old Bribe or Gift is in here, reworked.

The Gremlin, the Higher Self and the Self sit at the end of the bar and argue about all of it. There's a chapter on where the word coach came from, read by candlelight in argyle socks. And there's a glossary at the back with the words I made up, so you can use them on your own clients.

Paperback, printed when you order it and shipped to your door. Printing and mailing take about two to three weeks, so this is slower than Amazon. The ebook comes with it, sent to your email the minute you order, so you can start reading tonight.
